Information for Parents

We welcome visits at anytime and offer introductory sessions for any prospective parent/carer to see our child care environment in action. We are also happy for any parent/carer to stay with their child until they are happy that they have settled in enough for them to leave.

Each child has their own key worker and their progress is recorded in their individual learning journal, which is accessible to parents/carers at all times.

Our social environment allows children to make a range of choices for themselves throughout the session, which encourages their independence and stimulates their minds. Within the sessions we provide a wide range of structured activities that support the 7 government approved learning outcomes. The three core statutory areas being : communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development. The follow on areas are: literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, expressive arts and design. Every morning during registration the children do their Phonic Songs and Show and Tell.  ‘Circle-Time’, happens either just before lunch or at the end of the day.

The success of the children and the pride they have in the work they produce at the Pre-School is celebrated, and we are fortunate that the examples of the children’s work can always be displayed.

We embrace cultural diversity and encourage family involvement with events such as Chinese New Year, Easter and Christmas. We value each child as an individual and celebrate their birthdays.

We operate a Library system in which children can borrow books to share at home and which support literacy development.
